Notice is hereby given that Donegal County Council, in exercise of the powers vested in it by Section 9 of the Road Traffic Act 2004 has prepared Draft Speed Limit Bye Laws 2016 for the Administrative area of Donegal County Council following a countywide review of speed limits in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Department of Transport Tourism and Sport for the application of speed limits in Ireland.
i. The purpose for which the Draft Speed Limit Bye Laws 2016 are to be made is to provide for a more appropriate speed limit on public roads and public roads within certain housing estates.
ii. The Draft Speed Limit Bye Laws 2016 together with Explanatory Maps are available for inspection during normal office hours (Mon – Fri from 9.00am – 12.30pm and from 1.00pm – 5.00pm) at the Council’s Offices at –
(a) Carndonagh Public Services Centre, Main Road, Carndonagh
(b) Donegal Public Services Centre, Drumlonagher, Donegal Town
(c) Letterkenny Public Services Centre, Neil T Blaney Road, Letterkenny
(d) Milford Public Services Centre, Milford
(e) Road Section Office at The Base Enterprise Centre, Railway Road, Stranorlar
(f) Road Section Office at County House, Lifford
(g) Dungloe Public Services Centre, Gweedore Road, Dungloe
during the period of 30 days commencing on the date of first publication of this notice 6th of October 2016
iii. Any person may submit to the Council objections in writing addressed to -
Road Traffic Special Speed Limits,
The County Secretariat Office,
Donegal County Council,
Lifford, Co. Donegal
at any time during the same period commencing on the date of first publication of this notice so as to be received no later than the 7th of November. The Council will consider any such objections received.
